Located in Amarillo and created for the most popular horse on the planet, the American Quarter Horse Association is the largest equestrian membership organization and breed registry in the world.
The association operates the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, also in Amarillo, that pays tribute to the horse and human inductees to the Hall of Fame. Inductees are honored every year at the AQHA Convention, usually held in March.
Attention-commanding statues of some of the greatest American Quarter Horses in history welcome visitors to the museum. The Wall of Honor greets visitors from two distinctive perspectives: a light sculpture displays a herd of running quarter horses from the east and engraved bricks cut from granite pay homage to the famous people and horses of the west.
