The TEXAS Outdoor Musical has been offering performances in the Pioneer Amphitheater at Palo Duro Canyon for over 50 years. Summer performances typically run in the evening from early June through mid-August.
The shows feature live music, performances, and numerous special events throughout the summer. There are games, patriotic tributes and old-style Texas chuckwagon BBQ dinner put on by Feldman’s Wrong Way Diner and includes three types of meat with trimmings, dessert, and tea or lemonade.
There is a souvenir shop and nightly fireworks displays and water-and-light shows. Special events include the TEXAS Fourth of July Celebration, the TEXAS-inspired art exhibition, and the one-of-its-kind “Comanche Summer.” This unique celebration is a collaboration with the Comanche Nation with historical performances and authentic costumes.
All events, except for dinner, are usually included in the price of admission.
Backstage tours are available with a backstage pass for a small additional fee. Inquire at the Pioneer Amphitheater will-call window for instructions on how to get your backstage pass.
